Colombia’s Congressional Pro-Life and Pro-Family Caucus presented a detailed report on its four-year legislative record, highlighting its growth from 24 to 52 members and key victories including the passage of three landmark laws and the defense of traditional marriage, while warning of fresh battles as the new Congress convenes on July 20.

The caucus advanced more than 30 legislative initiatives, three of which became law: the “Empty Arms” Law supporting parents mourning miscarriage or newborn loss; a law strengthening breastfeeding policies; and the “Made by Family” Seal to support family-owned businesses. The caucus also successfully modified a bill to define marriage as between a man and a woman, and blocked initiatives related to abortion, euthanasia, gender ideology, and surrogacy.

Members of the caucus emphasized the ongoing struggle for life, family, and religious freedom, and the need to broaden influence on public opinion. Following the March 8 congressional elections, more than 30 candidates who signed the “Commitment to Life and Family” pledge were elected, forming the next pro-life caucus.
