The Fearless Congress, a conference dedicated to virtuous masculinity, opened in Guadalajara, Mexico, with a powerful declaration: men and women are partners, not adversaries. Organizers emphasized the vital need to form men in authentic masculinity to heal families and society.

Founder Andrés Villaseñor described the event as “a masculinity conference for men and women” and for “families who want to find their center, who want to unite, and who want to know what their purpose is.” The congress, held at the Mexican Martyrs Shrine, features notable speakers including psychologist Jordan Peterson, actor Eduardo Verástegui, soccer champion Carles Puyol, and theologian Christopher West.

Healing the Divide: From Competition to Complementarity

Media professional Zeny Leyva stressed that while focusing on women’s needs was necessary, society has stalled. “If we don’t also look at the wounds, shortcomings, and needs of men, we will continue to pull taut a rope that is already stretched too thin,” she warned. The goal, she clarified, is not competition but a return to the “original design” where man and woman are complementary partners.

Business executive Irma Wilde highlighted a disparity in personal growth, noting that women often invest more in emotional development. “If we want healthier relationships, we both need to grow,” she asserted, connecting men’s emotional maturity directly to relationship quality.

Psychologist Sofía Medina called the formation of men “vital,” framing it as answering life’s core questions: “For what purpose was I created?” and “How?” She expressed hope in seeing “men who strive to be the best version of themselves, with their gaze fixed on Christ.”

The Pillars of Virtuous Masculinity: Faith, Maturity, and Service

Leyva emphasized the need for “men who are strong in faith,” describing a man of authentic faith as one capable of true love, sacrifice, and teamwork with his wife. “He doesn’t impose his will but rather leads by example,” she said, creating a foundation for secure children and clear values. She rejected a zero-sum game, stating, “It is not about ceding ground; it is about building together.”

Wilde explained that a mature, committed man “transforms the entire environment,” bringing stability and reducing emotional strain. She pointed out that men’s reluctance to seek psychological help often hinders deep relationships, making events like the Fearless Congress essential for mutual growth.

Medina described a man living his vocation as a source of “courage, joy, and a spirit of service” who provides stability for his family. She also addressed practical burdens, noting that when a man gets involved with maturity, the disproportionate load of domestic labor on women becomes balanced, “and the dynamic changes completely.”

The congress’s message is inclusive. “This is for us, too,” Wilde stated. Medina agreed, concluding, “We all have a man in our lives whom we are influencing… so we absolutely must utilize every possible means to educate ourselves and grow. Only in this way will we achieve a better society.”
